Day 88 - Volcano et Versailles

Last day. Or so I thought! Who ever knew a VOLCANO in ICELAND would keep me from going home?? I sure didn't. I tried to update my blog this morning, but I failed because my internet connection wasn't strong enough. Oh well. Then I met up with Hanna, Garret and his friend Kevin to go to Versailles. The gardens were a little different than I expected. I guess I thought there would be beautiful flowers and I don't know. We also tried to find the cool things that the map said there were in the gardens, but it was such a maze and we couldn't find them. It was still really beautiful. And here are some pictures to prove that.

Using timer mode on your camera when it is on top of a backpack which is on top of a bench does not produce the most pleasing picture. But it works ;)

After that, we headed home. It was then that I discovered my flight was canceled for sure. My mom was able to call delta and get me a flight for tuesday. Cross your fingers...

Day 21 - Class, Louvre, FHE

Class was good today. I had French 102 and Religion. Not bad. After that, I headed to the Louvre with Haley and Chelsea. I didn't bring my SLR with me because it wouldn't fit, so I took my point and shoot. Wow. What a difference. I knew I loved my SLR, but not I really love my SLR! I didn't take any good pictures, but I'll tell you that I did see Charles I Dismounted by Van Dyck. That was pretty exciting. I love to see paintings that I recognize. After we chilled at the Louvre for a while, we headed out (well, we lost Chelsea and found Richard) to the Ricks' place. We were a little early so we went to see the Eiffel Tower. We saw it all lit up. It was pretty awesome. Then off to the Ricks'. We played a charade-type game for FHE and it was a lot of fun. I really enjoyed myself. Baby Benji

My sister Rachel had her baby boy Benjamin earlier this morning. This is the 19th time I've been an aunt. And I still absolutely adore it. I get just as excited with each birth. He's a new life. He's a miracle. I love children. With Benjamin and Abi, his oldest sister. I love her face in this one! Isn't he just adorable? Look at that hair! Oh I love him :)
