Yearbook Pictures

Image
I finally got the pictures to work for me! Yay! So here are some of my favorite bits about the yearbook! The Senior Wordle ( www.wordle.net ) is awesome! My name is in blue right about the "t" in Peterson, but you can't see it very clearly. We got a lot of siblings on the sibling page. I was so impressed that we did so. Too bad it came to late to get me on there with Mel, Mel with Andy, Andy with Rachel, etc. Did anyone get on the sibling page in our family? This is the photographers group picture. You can't tell, even in the book, unless you look really, really closely, but the guy on the far left is actually photoshopped in. The miracles of technology! I really love my face in this picture :) We got tons of pictures in the book. This was quite a feat. We tried our best to get everyone in the book more than once. Though we failed in that attempt, we did better than all the previous years. I tried to get a good shot of this picture in the yearbook, but it just wasn

Oakridge Friends

Image
My Favorite Things #9/365 This last semester in Seminary, I had the privilege to work with the Oakridge kids. These kids are those who are too mentally disabled to function in mainstream classes. I love them! They have the purest spirits. Though it was difficult each day to talk to them and very little response back, it was worth it! This is Jessica McEntire. She is awesome! Some days, she would burst into song. Occasionally you can recognize the tune of what she was singing (like Frosty the Snowman and Camptown Ladies), but most of the time, it was completely nonsensical. Still, it was beautiful :) She really is amazing. She never talked back, but when I talked to her, she would just stare at me with her beautiful blue eyes and smile. I know she understood everything I told her, probably better than I did. It was her 21st Birthday the day I took this picture. She loved having us sing to her. This is Danielle. One word to describe her would be stubborn. It was very difficult to get her

Hale Centre Theatre/Treasure Island

Image
My Favorite Things #8/365 My mom, my sister (Mel), and I went up to the Hale Centre Theatre in West Valley and saw Treasure Island. It was fantastic! I really liked it. The acting was wonderful, but what impressed me the most was the stage. Wow! For those of you who have not been to the Hale Centre Theatre before, it is a theater in the round. You really feel like you are "in on the action" because you are generally closer than you would be if the play was on a regular stage. Anyway, the stage was made out of wood planks. From the ceiling came down a mast, a large ladder covered with vines and leaves, a staircase, a skeleton, and more. There was a pool of water by one side that was deep enough that the actors would fall and jump into them and swim away. The audience members who were near enough got splashed several times! There was a waterfall and much much more. It is amazing to me that they do all of this for a play that lasts for less than a month and a half. But I'm g

Winning Money

Image
My Favorite Things #7/365 After graduation, my senior all night party began. There were many cool things available, one of which was prize drawing. The last prize to be given away for the evening was $100. As you can see, my number was drawn!! I think I was the most excited to win something. It was really cool :) Now I'm 100 bucks richer and I didn't have to do anything but go to a party! (Again Blogger is not cooperating, but I want the pictures on here anyway)

Graduating High School

Image
My Favorite Things #6/365 I don't have the pictures of graduation yet, but here is the diploma and the program. I can't believe I've finally made it here - I'm graduated! It doesn't feel like I'm that old, but I guess I am :) I'm grateful that my experiences in high school were good, but I am also very glad to be moving on to bigger and better things. BYU, here I come.

My Last High School Yearbook

Image
My Favorite Things #5/365 This year, I was on the Yearbook Staff. And let me tell you, our yearbook is the absolute best I have ever seen (I am not biased at all :) ). But really, it's full color, has tons of pictures, has amazing effects, awesome backgrounds, plus much, much more. I really love it! Though some pages could have used a bit more editing, overall, it is a great yearbook. I wanted to post a lot of pictures showing the inside of the yearbook because it is not only ALL color, it is amazing. So I took a lot of pictures. Unfortunately, Blogger is not very nice and it wants my pictures to be vertical when they really should be horizontal, which is how I took them. Oh well, I got one picture at least.

Lint Roller/Cat Hair Remover

Image
My Favorite Things #4/365 It's a simple thing, but it has been a great tool for me, as I have four cats :) Without it, I would look pretty silly going out in public. I use it several times a day!

The Book of Mormon

Image
My Favorite Things #3/365 I love The Book of Mormon. It is the easiest book of scripture for me to read. Tomorrow, actually, I will finish The Book of Mormon for the tenth time! Most everytime I have read it, I read from this particular copy. I got this copy when I got baptized at 8 years old. I was so excited. It had my name in it and was signed by the Bishopric. There is not a single page that is not marked in this book. I love it! If you have not read The Book of Mormon lately, I highly encourage that you do! It is a wonderful book!

Shoes

Image
My Favorite Things #2/365 For anyone who has ever seen the shoes I usually wear, you know that I wear out my shoes so completely that they sometimes can't even be termed proper footwear. I do this because once I find shoes that I really like, I just want to wear them all the time. Here's an example of some actual shoes that I've worn down pretty well. But the best example I have is of my white flats. I got these shoes last April and have worn them most every day since then. A few weeks ago, the back of the left shoe split, as you can see in the picture, but I still continued to wear them faithfully. (The picture is a little blurry because I don't like using flash, but you get the idea) Well, yesterday I went with a 20% coupon in hand to Payless. I found some great shoes that I think I'll be able to wear out! I was surprised because I can't usually find that many pairs of shoes that I like! (The green pair is actually from walmart, but I still love them too!) I a

Oliver

Image
My Favorite Things #1/365 So my favorite things will probably be a bit unconventional and most likely disjointed. But I love so many different things that I can't see how I could do it any other way :) My first favorite is my fat cat Oliver. Many people do not like cats, but I can't see why. We've had this boy since August of 2006. He was the WORST kitten ever. He would scratch anyone and anything that was near him. He was not at all friendly. I don't know how we lived through that, but I am so glad we did (one helpful thing was that we got his front paws declawed). He is the best cat. He weighs about 20 pounds, never bites unless you purposely bug him first, and sleeps on my bed most every night. I really do love this cat so he had better live forever!

Starting out

This is my first post as a new blogger. Who knows what I will do on here, but I'll figure it out!
