Day 53 - Amiens

After waking up way too early, we headed to Gare du Nord, where horrible RER B experiences ensued. Not for me, but for the other girls... they just about died. But soon enough it was over. That's a lot of people.

Then we (Kalisha, Elisabeth, Lori, Tabitha, Lauren, Shamra, Ali, and I) got onto an SNCF train and headed to the city of Amiens.

Pretty cool. It is supposedly the tallest cathedral, but it didn't feel like it was that big. Anyway, it was absolutely beautiful and very full of light!

This labyrinth has 406 steps. How do I know? I did it :) It was fun.

Apparently the skull of John the Baptist.

Then we went outside and ate on the grass.
It was here that I took a little nap. It was nice :)

Last glimpse of Amiens cathedral. Then back to Paris. Some of the girls helped me out getting my stuff from the institute from my three month stay. It was quite the ordeal. It was very painful and very heavy. I'm pretty sure I ran over someone's foot. Sorry random tourist! Then to the grocery store to make change for the Roissy bus that will take us to the airport. And get food :)

Then back to the hotel to eat, chill, and pack. It's been a good day. But it didn't end there. There was still more hilarity to be had. Whilst at the grocery store, Tabitha bought peas, which she has recently discovered to be a delectable vegetable. Anyway, she found huge ones and was really excited so she bought a ton of them. When we got back to the hotel, she showed us her "peas." Well, they certainly were not peas. We all tried them. Turns out they were lima beans. That were not good. At all. But it was funny :)
Oh Tabitha... :)

AMAZING pics of the cathedral! It looks HUGE! That cathedral certainly accomplished the goal of making the visitor feel small.

Um, yeah, peas and lima beans taste just a little bit different.... :o)
