Day 46 - Chateau de Versailles

It was a short trip to Versailles from where we are staying.
We lectured while we waited in the huge line leading up to the chateau. It actually went by pretty fast. So before we all went in, Martha gave us the assignment to write a freewrite about every single room. Frantic feelings ensued... There were tons of people inside so it made it difficult to write. The rooms are very similar which also made it difficult to write original freewrites about every room. Oh well, I got it done.

Much better picture this time!
I ended in the Hall of Mirrors. I am so grateful to Valerie! The Hall of Mirrors is so amazing when you are in there alone. When it is full of people... you just want to get out. As soon as possible.

Then we went outside. What a relief.

I loved the gardens so much more this time. Probably because we (Ali, Tabitha, Elisabeth, Shamra, and I) did a series of jumping pictures :) Such fun.

Marie-Antoinette's Hamo.

Thousands of fish!

He kept almost falling in! His father was not watching him!

Then we walked back through the gardens slowly to get back to the front. Along the way, we did our jumping pictures, all of which are on Ali's camera, which I have now stolen from facebook :)

I love them!

Apollo in the grotto.

Lots of fun and beauty all around. It was supposed to rain today but it didn't at all. We were very fortunate!

Then we headed back to Issy and went to the grocery store. Then back to the hotel to eat dinner and take a nap because we were all exhausted!! We accidentally slept for two hours then we went to see the Eiffel Tower at night!

Amazing! We had a lot of fun. Tabitha got some cotton candy but because of the humidity, it melted on her! :)

Back to the hotel for the night.
