Day 44 - Perfect Day

When we left our hotel, the weather was a little chilly, but as we got off the metro to get to the Paris ward church, it was pouring rain. We were going to just walk from the St. Michel stop, but that is a bit of a distance. So we got back on the RER B, transferred at Chatelet, and got off at Hotel de Ville. Since I've been here a million times, I got off at the fastest exit. Only Shamra and Tabitha followed. We got out of the exit and ran. Even though I ran as fast as I could, I was still soaking wet from the rain. Tabitha was not because she had this nice poncho :) Anyway, we then headed to Relief Society (the rest of the group got to the church after several minutes). We didn't get headphones but I did pretty well in understanding basically what was going on. She was talking about how we see Christ's hands in our lives and how we need to be examples of Him. We stayed in that room for English Sunday School. We talked about Saul and how God knows what is going on and things will work out just like they are supposed to. Then to Sacrament meeting where I saw Todd and Carter and Miro! :) I didn't expect to see Miro so that was fun. People bore their testimonies. It was cool. Then, after church, they had potluck! This is probably the third or fourth time that we have had wards feed us lunch! We have some great luck. I stuck around and talked with friends for a while, until the girls got impatient :)

So then we went to Notre Dame to climb the tower. Todd came with us. We waited in line forever! Luckily, the weather was great. Though Tabitha was still a little cold.
Finally we climbed up. The climb really wasn't too bad and we not only saw really cool gargoyles, but we also got a great view of the city!

Quasimodo...

He's eating Tour Montparnasse!

Pretty awesome! We then walked to the Louvre to use the internet at the Apple store on their new iPads. After that, we went to Lock Bridge, to see my lock and to have Ali and Tabitha put their own locks on. Well this is what I found instead of my lock.
:( Why did they have to cut it off? The bridge would look a lot cooler if it was filled with locks. Whatever.
Even though they knew their locks would not last, they put them on anyway and threw their keys into the Seine. Then we got crepes for dinner. The guy was very funny and he gave us each a free postcard. They were very dirty and old, but hey, they were free!

Then back to the hotel for some sleep.

That is so sad that they cut all those off. I wonder why. It's not like they were hurting anything. Well at least you have memories and pictures of your lock on the bridge, right. :)
