Day 4 - Walk #16 Continued
One of the classes I am signed up for is Paris Walks. For this class, we have a book of 21 walks that take us around Paris. They are interesting, though a bit too time consuming. Anyway, Walk #16, or the Montmartre Walk, started at Sacre Couer and ended at Moulin Rouge. Interesting.
This is Saint Denis. He was beheaded and after that, according to legend, he carried his head down the north side of Montmarte before collapsing. A little strange, but cool.
This is an apartment that once housed such artists as Picasso, Braque, Guillaume, and others. Pretty sweet.
Toulouse-Lautrec (the artist that did the Moulin Rouge posters) lived here.Van Gogh lived here. And here is the Moulin Rouge night club with the group that came on this walk. Ten out of the 16 in our group plus Garret, our French teacher. Though this walk was long and misguiding, we saw many interesting things!
