Day 6 - Mon Anniversaire

Today is my 19th birthday and also was my first day in a French ward.

Church went alright. I didn't sleep well last night, so I was drifting of during all the meetings. It didn't help that it was all in a language that I do not understand at all. Sure I can understand some words, but that doesn't really help me. Oh well. After that, I went to the Ricks' apartment. They fed lunch to those of us who were there. We had delicious grilled cheese sandwiches. Mine had ham in it. Yum. I played with Max and Jack for a while on the Wii and we also played Uno. Before we had dinner, I was able to get on skype and talk to Rachel and Mom for a while. That was really nice! For dinner, we had a lemon/salmon pasta dish along with pureed carrots. It was really good. Then we had chocolate cake. Delicious! It had two layers of mousse accompanied by a layer of cake. It was then covered completely with melty chocolate. It was really good.

Day 21 - Class, Louvre, FHE

Class was good today. I had French 102 and Religion. Not bad. After that, I headed to the Louvre with Haley and Chelsea. I didn't bring my SLR with me because it wouldn't fit, so I took my point and shoot. Wow. What a difference. I knew I loved my SLR, but not I really love my SLR! I didn't take any good pictures, but I'll tell you that I did see Charles I Dismounted by Van Dyck. That was pretty exciting. I love to see paintings that I recognize. After we chilled at the Louvre for a while, we headed out (well, we lost Chelsea and found Richard) to the Ricks' place. We were a little early so we went to see the Eiffel Tower. We saw it all lit up. It was pretty awesome. Then off to the Ricks'. We played a charade-type game for FHE and it was a lot of fun. I really enjoyed myself. Baby Benji

My sister Rachel had her baby boy Benjamin earlier this morning. This is the 19th time I've been an aunt. And I still absolutely adore it. I get just as excited with each birth. He's a new life. He's a miracle. I love children. With Benjamin and Abi, his oldest sister. I love her face in this one! Isn't he just adorable? Look at that hair! Oh I love him :)
