Getting ready for Aarynn and Lily

My Favorite Things #18/365

Next Thursday, two of my nieces, Aarynn and Lily, will be coming to stay at my house for about a month and a half. I'm very excited! We are going to have a lot of fun together. This is a great opportunity for us to bond. Both girls will be staying in my bedroom (I have three beds in there; I don't really know why, but I do). So I've been doing some cleaning. The area that needed cleaning the most was the bed I don't sleep on and is not under the bed I sleep on (I have a trundle bed). I had a lot of my stuff piled on this bed. I wish I had taken a before picture. I think the bed looks great! It is now ready to be slept in!

I am thinking Aarynn and then Lily will sleep on the trundle bed. I am glad they are excited!

They are different beds. This is a single bed and the trundle is stored under my bed, but it pops up. Will that be alright with them?

They will totally love sleeping on separate beds! I think they'll be pretty amazed with the trundle bed...how it hides and all!

Eight days from today and we'll be driving to the airport! Putting them on the plane. And waiting on pins and needles until Mom calls me and lets me know they are safely with her!

Day 54 - Dernier Jour

Last day in Paris! I can't believe it. I'm sure gonna miss this place. Ali, Shamra, Mckell, Claire and I headed out to the city this morning. First stop was the Opera house. I finally got to see the inside this time! Beautiful. We had some fun :) Then we went to Berko's, the wonderful cheesecake place. It wasn't open and it was 11:35. We thought they wouldn't open until 12 but as we were sitting there waiting, they opened the doors! Yay! I got creme brulee cheesecake. Oh it was divine. This is one of the things I will miss most about Paris! Love it. Then Claire and I went to the Jewish museum. It was pretty interesting. I couldn't take many pictures. Then off to the Promenade Plantee. It was a really beautiful walk. I like this flower. It's weird. Then we walked back to the metro. It was quite a long walk so we were very tired! Day 55 - Home

I'll miss the metro, I'll miss the city, I'll miss the museums, I'll miss the tourist attractions, I'll miss the people, I'll miss the photo opportunities, I'll miss the rush. I'll miss this place. I got up early this morning, finished packing up, ate breakfast, then headed to the Roissy bus with Elisabeth and Ali. Who are, by the way, angels! I am so grateful to them for helping me. I absolutely could not have done it without them unless I got a taxi. And even then, I'm not sure. Once on the nice Roissy bus, I slept a little bit. It was good. SO much better than taking the RER B, which is what everyone else took who was on our flight. And it ended up being cheaper. Then we finally got to the airport. Elisabeth checked my duffel (thanks again!), which was fine on weight. Then I checked my large bag, except it was 4 kilo over. If I wanted to pay for that, it would be 150 euros. No thank you.
