My Favorite Things #34/365

I definitely picked the right major. I love this class! Even when I'm nodding off in Chem 111, I am wide awake in this class, even though it is just a half an hour later. The teacher is enthusiastic; she wants us to learn and to understand. The text is great! It does not read like a textbook. I think it is so interesting (of course, I'm a bit biased). This class is my longest one (an hour and 15 minutes whereas the other 4 are 50 minutes a piece), which is good. I'm very thankful that I was able to find something that I love!

Wow, you got classes pretty easy. My longest class is 3 hrs, next to that is 2 hrs.

How exciting! I enjoy learning about history. I find it fascinating that what goes on around the world affects art, too!

haha haha hahahahaha... shorter class does not translate into easier. In fact, most of the time, it makes it harder because you really can't get a whole lot done. It sucks. How's school going for you, by the way?

See I like history fine, I like doodling fine. But when you combine art with history, that hits the spot :)

Day 21 - Class, Louvre, FHE

Class was good today. I had French 102 and Religion. Not bad. After that, I headed to the Louvre with Haley and Chelsea. I didn't bring my SLR with me because it wouldn't fit, so I took my point and shoot. Wow. What a difference. I knew I loved my SLR, but not I really love my SLR! I didn't take any good pictures, but I'll tell you that I did see Charles I Dismounted by Van Dyck. That was pretty exciting. I love to see paintings that I recognize. After we chilled at the Louvre for a while, we headed out (well, we lost Chelsea and found Richard) to the Ricks' place. We were a little early so we went to see the Eiffel Tower. We saw it all lit up. It was pretty awesome. Then off to the Ricks'. We played a charade-type game for FHE and it was a lot of fun. I really enjoyed myself. Day 54 - Dernier Jour

Last day in Paris! I can't believe it. I'm sure gonna miss this place. Ali, Shamra, Mckell, Claire and I headed out to the city this morning. First stop was the Opera house. I finally got to see the inside this time! Beautiful. We had some fun :) Then we went to Berko's, the wonderful cheesecake place. It wasn't open and it was 11:35. We thought they wouldn't open until 12 but as we were sitting there waiting, they opened the doors! Yay! I got creme brulee cheesecake. Oh it was divine. This is one of the things I will miss most about Paris! Love it. Then Claire and I went to the Jewish museum. It was pretty interesting. I couldn't take many pictures. Then off to the Promenade Plantee. It was a really beautiful walk. I like this flower. It's weird. Then we walked back to the metro. It was quite a long walk so we were very tired! Day 57 - Thrift Shopping Success

Classes were good today. We got our tests back in French. I am really happy with my score! Yay :) Then in Music, we talked about Stravinsky's Le Sacre du Printemps . It is very interesting. Look it up on YouTube, if you have the time. It is considered a ballet, but it is very different than usual ballets. Après ca, a few of us went thrift shopping. I found an awesome dress! I am really happy with it. When I first saw it, I didn't like it very much. But when I tried it on, I loved it! I wish my host mom was here so she could wash it for me (she does our laundry), but I guess I'll have to figure something else out. I'm excited to wear it! After we thrift-shopped ourselves out, we got some absolutely wonderful gelato. It was so good and it didn't even make my stomach hurt! Hoorah! A demain :D
