Day 2 - Mostly le Louvre

Today, we got our Louvre student pass. It is wonderful. It cost 13 euro and it last a whole year! The Louvre is so amazing. There is so much to see. I am so glad I have such a long time to see it all! If I had only a short amount of time, I don't know what I would do!!

This is not the Louvre, obviously, but I forgot to post this on last night. This was the view from the hotel room. I thought it was pretty cool.

Greek Sculptures. I don't really know the name for most of them.

Momento Mori. This shows up in a lot of art from different periods. It is a dead body/skeleton that reminds the viewer that they will die one day.
I love this column.
Interesting, whatever it is...
And the pyramid. I took this from outside. I'll post better pictures later.

You didn't post a picture of your favorite statue. But I love all the ones that you posted. The Louvre is such an amazing structure. Can't wait to see more pictures, thanks for sharing.

Day 21 - Class, Louvre, FHE

Class was good today. I had French 102 and Religion. Not bad. After that, I headed to the Louvre with Haley and Chelsea. I didn't bring my SLR with me because it wouldn't fit, so I took my point and shoot. Wow. What a difference. I knew I loved my SLR, but not I really love my SLR! I didn't take any good pictures, but I'll tell you that I did see Charles I Dismounted by Van Dyck. That was pretty exciting. I love to see paintings that I recognize. After we chilled at the Louvre for a while, we headed out (well, we lost Chelsea and found Richard) to the Ricks' place. We were a little early so we went to see the Eiffel Tower. We saw it all lit up. It was pretty awesome. Then off to the Ricks'. We played a charade-type game for FHE and it was a lot of fun. I really enjoyed myself. Day 54 - Dernier Jour

Last day in Paris! I can't believe it. I'm sure gonna miss this place. Ali, Shamra, Mckell, Claire and I headed out to the city this morning. First stop was the Opera house. I finally got to see the inside this time! Beautiful. We had some fun :) Then we went to Berko's, the wonderful cheesecake place. It wasn't open and it was 11:35. We thought they wouldn't open until 12 but as we were sitting there waiting, they opened the doors! Yay! I got creme brulee cheesecake. Oh it was divine. This is one of the things I will miss most about Paris! Love it. Then Claire and I went to the Jewish museum. It was pretty interesting. I couldn't take many pictures. Then off to the Promenade Plantee. It was a really beautiful walk. I like this flower. It's weird. Then we walked back to the metro. It was quite a long walk so we were very tired! Day 57 - Thrift Shopping Success

Classes were good today. We got our tests back in French. I am really happy with my score! Yay :) Then in Music, we talked about Stravinsky's Le Sacre du Printemps . It is very interesting. Look it up on YouTube, if you have the time. It is considered a ballet, but it is very different than usual ballets. Après ca, a few of us went thrift shopping. I found an awesome dress! I am really happy with it. When I first saw it, I didn't like it very much. But when I tried it on, I loved it! I wish my host mom was here so she could wash it for me (she does our laundry), but I guess I'll have to figure something else out. I'm excited to wear it! After we thrift-shopped ourselves out, we got some absolutely wonderful gelato. It was so good and it didn't even make my stomach hurt! Hoorah! A demain :D
