My Favorite Things #23/365

A couple of weeks ago, I got called to be the Primary teacher to one of the CTR 6 classes. This class is ALL boys. Growing up with mostly girls and having so many nieces did not prepare me for these boys! They are quite a handful, but they are a lot of fun. They are very frustrating, but what keeps me from boiling over is that they can always make me smile :)

The key with the kids is to be consistant. Our hardest classes are the ones where the teachers are gone a lot, I know that this won't be a problem for you though! But being there shows the kids that you care about them :)

I love teaching primary! I am a Sunbeams teacher.

Consistency is great.

But my big helper? Treats.

I know that we're discouraged from bringing treats, but it sure is a great motivator!

My Favorite Things #38/365 I have had this laptop since I was 14 years old. I cease to be amazed at how long it has lasted! The keys don't look like they've hardly been used (even though they have been used A LOT) and it has rarely given me any trouble! It is very useful to have the laptop here at my apartment. I use it every day. I don't know what I would do without it!! It isn't very portable, but that's alright. I don't really want to take notes in class on a computer, so there really isn't any need to move it, at least not for now.

You wish your art class was as cool as mine

What could this possibly be? Well it is installation art. Which is probably the most exciting art there is. If you've never tried it, you haven't lived. So here's our concept. Our world today is drifting away from nature and becoming more connected to technology. However, there are still those hippies who are completely tied to nature. We made this literal with saran wrap. Now she is still tied to nature, but not quite so much. Perhaps this could represent someone who wants to go green. I don't know. The beauty of modern art is that you can make it mean whatever you want. Now Corinne here is only a little bit tied to nature. Sure, she'll recycle every once in a while, if it is convenient. I would say many people fall in this category. And finally, she represents someone who is completely relying on technology. Yeah, she is still connected to the saran wrap, but only because she has to step on nature sometimes to get around. What do you think?
