Day 72 - Musée D'Orsay

Image
French was even worse today. I felt really light-headed coupled with tiredness, nausea, and an aching body. I don't know what was causing it, but it made it really hard to concentrate. I kept getting the answers wrong. Ugh, it was not fun. I hope I am ready for the test on Monday. And the test on the Friday after that. And the final after that... :r I went to the Louvre for a little bit after that with Shaina. Then we headed off to the Musée D'Orsay for art class. In September, they issued a new rule that pictures cannot be taken in the museum. Lame. Anyway, it was really awesome. We talked about Courbet the entire time. He's really cool, but I didn't know there was that much to say about him! In case you don't know who he is, he painted the Stonebreakers and also the Burial at Orleon (not sure on the place actually). It was cool. Several of us went to the Crime and Punishment exhibit after that. It was awesome, at least at the beginning. We saw some Géricault, incl

Day 71 - Real French Dinner

French was not so good today because everyone was tired and wasn't quite grasping the concepts. During lunch, we all studied for religion, then we went and took the final. It went really well. We had religion class after that. We talked about the future of the Church and the problems that it will be facing. It was really good. I stuck around the Institute with Rosalie for a little bit, then we headed to Chez Denise for dinner (covered for by the program). I had amazing salmon in a mustard sauce. It was incredibly good. Following that, I had a very rich and very delicious mousse au chocolat. Oh it was amazing! Then home. To do homework. Yay :)

Day 70 - Crazy day

French was fine today. During lunch, Hanna and I watched some videos on YouTube. The first was 70 Million by Hold Your Horses. It is so fun! Then we watched a video where an electrician plays a joke on his apprentice and gets a banana in his eye. It is hilarious! Then we had a lecture by Leilei Tian (not sure on the spelling). It was more of her journey in discovering God and the Church. She also played some of her compositions. It was very interesting. After that, a few of us went on an adventure to see some Incorruptable Saints. It took us a long time, but we finally found two nuns. It was really cool. They looked like wax-figures, but that was just because wax was put on their faces and hands to protect them from decaying. Oh yeah, forgot to mention that they are dead bodies. What happend is they were buried, then excavated (a hundred or so years late) and were still perfectly intact. Then they were put in the church. Pretty crazy stuff. We tried to find a guy in another Church, but

Day 69 - Full Day

Today was a good day. I missed Relief Society because I got to Church late. The reasons for this predicament were as follows - Daylight Savings Time started today, I am so tired from London, and Line 1 was closed, which makes it take longer for me to get to Church. En tout cas... Church was great! Afterwards, Shaina, Rebecca, Melissa, and I went to Miro's place for lunch. We had spaghetti. Yum. Pasta is my absolute favorite! It is always good :) Then I went to the Louvre to try and study for my final a little bit. I had troubles finding the room that I needed to study in, so I just looked around. A really cute French boy came up to me. He started speaking French, but starting speaking English after he saw the glazed over look on my face haha He kept asking me to walk with him through the galleries, but I stayed put (by the Winged Victory) because hey, I've seen Taken :) It was fun though. We talked for about a half an hour. Then I went to the Arc du Triompe to meet with Miro, T

Day 68 - London Day

We all had a good English breakfast this morning. I miss breakfasts! Anyway, Courtney and Shaina went to Leicester Square to try to get matinee tickets for The Lion King, so Hanna and I headed off together. Requisite phone booth shot :) This is made out of real plants to raise awareness for the environment or something like that. Buckingham Palace. I didn't really know what to expect, but this wasn't exactly it. Still cool nonetheless! People waiting around to see the changing of the guard. St. James Park Entrance to Hyde Park. You can look at the beautiful plants and learn at the same time! I really loved Hyde Park. It is a beautiful place. Unfortunately, it started to rain, so we had to head to the Underground. We decided to go the British Museum next. I've got a lot of pictures... some of which might be a little freaky. Just to let you know. This is the Bog Man! This is a mummy, though it does not look like a traditional one. This was a common person, so he didn'
